Critical Art Writing Workshop: ARAK Collection Invites Aspiring Art Writers and Critics

Doha, Qatar — The ARAK Collection is excited to announce the upcoming Critical Art Writing Workshop, which will take place from February 5thto 9th, 2023, at the Project Room in Windhoek, Namibia. This workshop is a unique opportunity for young, aspiring art writers and critics from Angola, Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

About the Workshop:

 The Critical Art Writing Workshop will delve into innovative approaches to art writing, exploring experimental and hybrid forms of expression. Participants will engage in hands-on sessions where contemporary exhibition reviews, art discourse, and art history will be dissected and discussed. Toward the workshop's conclusion, attendees will participate in exercises designed to prompt them to write about a current exhibition of their choice or an artist's practice in Windhoek, empowering them to develop their own distinctive voice and writing style.

Furthermore, this workshop presents a remarkable opportunity for selected participants, as they may be offered the chance to contribute their writing to the ARAK Collection.

Only those who receive a confirmation letter from the ARAK Collection team will be eligible to attend the workshop.
