Willy Karekezi

Willy Karekezi is a self-taught conceptual artist who lives and works in Kigali, Rwanda. His work is driven by social and political engagement. Through paintings, sculptures, installations and public art Willy expresses himself. He believes that art is without boundaries and that it enables him to tell stories and communicate to the society. He aims to share his reality and the experiences faced by himself and others in order to contribute to communities by creating a dialogue within society. Through educative programs and working within refugee camps in Rwanda and Uganda, he also contributes financially and emotionally through workshops, exhibitions and installations.
