Curated by students from the Art History and Painting + Printmaking programs at VCUarts Qatar as part of the Art History 391 course, *Global Contemporary Art*, “Inheriting // Endurance” presented works from the Arak Collection by South African contemporary artists Sifiso Gumede, Odirile Khune Motsiri, Xolile Mtakatya, Sipho Ndlovu, Senzeni Marasela, Thina Dube, and Mashir Kresenshun. Focusing on early-career South African contemporary artists, the exhibition examined the ongoing sociopolitical conditions inherited from apartheid and their continued impact on identity, class, and gender.
