Presented as part of the major symposium Decolonizing Energy: The Past, Present, and Future of Energy Justice at Georgetown University in Qatar, the exhibition “Landscapes in Motion” curated by Firat Oruc, Trish Kahle, and Victoria Googasian, brought together artists, scholars, and writers to examine the colonial legacies embedded within contemporary energy systems through decolonial and Global South perspectives. The exhibition included "Power Lines, Everyday Currents from the ARAK Collection", featuring works by ElMouiz Abdelbagi Alogaimi, Trevor Aloka, Girma Berta, Arnold Birungi, Mohamed Bushra, Nelson Ijaka’a, Patrick Karanja, Ismael Kateregga, Aly Kilua, Eli Kobeli, Asanda Kupa, Elias Mung’ora, Malibongwe Shangase, Mario Pedro Soares, Gerald Tabata, and Themba Khumalo. Exploring the entanglements of urban life, labour, migration, and infrastructure, the presentation reflected on the enduring conditions of colonial energy systems and imagined alternative futures.
