AFRICAN ART: THE ARAK COLLECTION: FRANSCHHOEK BOOK LAUNCH
On 17 May 2025, at Ebony Curated in Franschhoek, ARAK launched African Art: The ARAK Collection, the definitive and debut publication of the Qatar-based ARAK Collection—founded by Abdul Rahman AlKhulaifi and home to over 4000 works by artists from Sub-Saharan Africa.

The launch took place as part of the 2025 Franschhoek Literary Festival and saw art critics David Mann and Ashraf Jamal discussing the book with a live audience as well as their own works of fiction—Mann’s Once Removed and Jamal’s The Shades and Love Themes for the Wilderness—reflecting on the relationship between fiction and art criticism.
African Art: The ARAK Collection is available for purchase on SKIRA’s website.
