Curators in Conversation at FADA Gallery – Talks Programme

On February 14, 2026, as part of two exhibitions curated and opened at the FADA Gallery, Johannesburg, South Africa ARAK Collection hosted Soukaina Aboloula and Max ors in Conversation sessions at the FADA Gallery, offering audiences an opportunity to engage more deeply with the ideas shaping each exhibition.

The talks brought Max into conversation with Dr Sara Bint Moneer Khan, and Soukaina into dialogue with Art critic Ashraf Jamal. Each session unpacked the curatorial approaches underpinning After Material and There Are Other Worlds (They Have Not Told You Of), creating space for reflection on materiality, abstraction, and modes of knowledge production.

The discussions provided insight into the research, references, and conceptual frameworks informing the exhibitions, while opening up broader questions around contemporary African artistic practice. Both sessions were marked by thoughtful exchange and an engaged audience, extending the conversations beyond the gallery and into a shared space of dialogue.
